Show 1304: Fixing Your Foot Problems

Show 1304: Fixing Your Foot Problems

$ 0.00

In our nationally syndicated radio show this week, we have a guest live in the studio. Podiatrist Jane Andersen will be ready to answer your questions about foot problems and what you can do about them.

Fixing Your Foot Problems:

Has the pandemic been hard on your feet? Some foot doctors report seeing 20 to 30 percent more foot pain post-pandemic. Perhaps people gained weight during lockdown, which could contribute to foot problems. In addition, other people may have taken to wearing slippers or flip flops while working from home. Those who went barefoot may now be suffering with heel pain due to plantar fasciitis.

If you have been struggling with plantar fasciitis or other foot problems, we invite you to call us at 888-472-3366 between 7 and 8 am EDT on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Or send your questions to radio@PeoplesPharmacy.com via email.

What Bothers Your Feet?

Broken Toe:

If you have been kicking about the house without sturdy shoes on, you might have collided with a table leg or door jamb and broken a toe. How can you tell if it is actually broken? What do you do for broken toes to help them heal?

Overuse Injury:

Can you keep your legs, ankles and feet strong without incurring overuse injuries? We’ll discuss the most common of these injuries and find out how to avoid them.

Bunion:

What about bunions? You may have heard your grandfather complain about his bunions. As a result, you might wonder what they are and whether you will be susceptible. Dr. Andersen will describe these bony bumps at the base of the big toe and tell us how to handle them to minimize the discomfort.

Are You Staying Active Enough to Help Your Foot Problems?

If your pandemic regimen didn’t include regular physical activity, your feet may be complaining. Suddenly jumping back into walking long distances or running can aggravate foot problems. How can we get the exercise we need to keep our feet and ankles strong–without stressing them too much?

We’ll also consider treatments for athlete’s foot, toenail fungus and other common ailments. What are the best ways to keep your feet healthy during summertime? Share your questions and we’ll do our best to answer them.
