Always Hungry? - Listen & Read
Decades of diet advice have left Americans overall heavier and less healthy rather than slimmer and more vigorous. Some people have tried hard to lose weight, but found that the low-fat diet they were following left them feeling hungry and grumpy. Sure, they could lose weight for a while, but maintaining the weight loss is far from easy!
Endocrinologist David S. Ludwig, MD, PhD, explains in his book and in our interview how the seemingly sensible low-fat diet advice of the past three decades has led so many people astray. As Dr. Ludwig’s studies show, overeating doesn't make you fat; the process of getting fat makes you overeat.
Dr. Ludwig offers concrete solutions, with a three-phase diet plan that is laid out with menus and delicious recipes in his book as well as accessible discussions of the science of obesity. He shows how we can conquer our cravings and retrain our fat cells so we can lose weight permanently. You can put biology to work for you by changing the types of food you eat, without counting calories or fearing starvation.
